<p>SteriGENE® is a mixture of halogenated tertiary amine and organic salts &lt;15%, polymeric biguanide hydrochloride surface active agents’ corrosion inhibitor, chelating agents, stabilising agents and demineralised water. SteriGENE® is free of aldehydes, chlorine and phenols and is concentrated for on-site dilution. SteriGENE is also effective against Kauri die back disease, PSA in kiwi fruit, Foot and mouth disease, M.Bovis, Parvo and feline calicivirus.</p>
<h4>Action:</h4>
<p>It is well known that long chain quaternary compounds that possess the greatest antibacterial activity are those with at least one radical, with a C8 to C18 length carbon chain. It is also known that absorption plays an important role in the activity of disinfectant formulations. SteriGENE® disinfectant is highly surface active and is therefore readily absorbed. Because of the large relative surface area of particulate micro-organisms, the first stage of germicidal activity probably begins with the absorption of the disinfectant by the microbial cell. It has been observed that such absorption increased the permeability of the cell membrane; leading to rupture of the cell and the decrease of lysine and glutamic acid. The inclusion of dodecylamine and sulfamic acid in the formulation appears to stimulate the contraction of cytoplasm followed by complete stripping of the cell wall. A second mode of action proposed is that cell death results from inactivation of energy-producing enzymes such as those concerned with glucose, succinate and pyruvate oxidase systems. As with glutaraldehyde and similar toxic substances, the exact mode has not been fully elucidated. However, using standard biocidal tests, this formulation has been shown to be highly effective. <p>SteriGENE® is a mixture of halogenated tertiary amine and organic salts &lt;15%, polymeric biguanide hydrochloride surface active agents’ corrosion inhibitor, chelating agents, stabilising agents and demineralised water. SteriGENE® is free of aldehydes, chlorine and phenols and is concentrated for on-site dilution. SteriGENE is also effective against Kauri die back disease, PSA in kiwi fruit, Foot and mouth disease, M.Bovis, Parvo and feline calicivirus.</p>
<h4>Action:</h4>
<p>It is well known that long chain quaternary compounds that possess the greatest antibacterial activity are those with at least one radical, with a C8 to C18 length carbon chain. It is also known that absorption plays an important role in the activity of disinfectant formulations. SteriGENE® disinfectant is highly surface active and is therefore readily absorbed. Because of the large relative surface area of particulate micro-organisms, the first stage of germicidal activity probably begins with the absorption of the disinfectant by the microbial cell. It has been observed that such absorption increased the permeability of the cell membrane; leading to rupture of the cell and the decrease of lysine and glutamic acid. The inclusion of dodecylamine and sulfamic acid in the formulation appears to stimulate the contraction of cytoplasm followed by complete stripping of the cell wall. A second mode of action proposed is that cell death results from inactivation of energy-producing enzymes such as those concerned with glucose, succinate and pyruvate oxidase systems. As with glutaraldehyde and similar toxic substances, the exact mode has not been fully elucidated. However, using standard biocidal tests, this formulation has been shown to be highly effective. SteriGENE® works up to 70% quicker than conventional high level disinfectants with the inclusion of micro-emulsion particles (nano particles) that enable the active ingredient molecules in the product to be carried rapidly through cell walls of micro-organisms.</p>
<p>Nano particles can enter areas like microscopic fissures and crevices in hard surfaces which up to now have not been penetrable by conventional carrier systems. Disinfectant actives are able to spread across a complete surface area, to perform a far more thorough anti pathogenic cleansing task than was previously possible.</p>
<h4>Indications:</h4>
<p>Effective against Bacteria, viruses and fungi, including; Coronavirus (SARS, COVID-19), Listera monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., Escherichia spp., Leptospira spp., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas spp., Mycobacterium fortuitum, Bacillus spp., Clostridium spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Serratia spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter spp., Legionella spp., Microsporum spp., Candida albicans, Trichophyton spp., Penicillin spp., Aspergillus niger, and Saccharomyces cervisiae. It is also effective against the veral infections: O rotavirus, hepatitis A and B, herpes, HIV, poliomyelitis, influenza, parvo, Newcastle disease, FeIV, FIP, FIV. Product has been tested and approved by MAF.</p>
<h4>Dosage:</h4>
<p>For general disinfection spray on surfaces and wipe. For disinfection of shoes for Kauri Die back disease, scrape majority of soiling off shoes and spray soles and sides of shoes with SteriGENE. May be used on most hard surfaces including food preparation areas. Avoid extended contact with polished wood.</p>
<h4>First Aid/Poisoning:</h4>
<p>External use only. If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting, contact a doctor or the National Poisons Centre (0800 POISON or 0800 764 766) immediately. If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly. Avoid eye contact. Wash copiously with water for 10 minutes if in eyes. Wash splashes from clothes or skin immediately. Always seek medical advice for persistent reaction to any chemical. Always study full data sheet before using any chemical preparation. Storage: Store in dry place not below 0oC or above 30oC and out of direct sunlight. Keep lidded and away from foodstuffs and drink</p>

This corresponds to the test protocol used by the UK Animal Health Institute and to the protocol accepted world-wide under EPA conditions.</p>

<p>Users of disinfectants in human health/laboratory and life science environments require maximum protection from the use of a disinfectant with proven independent microbiological test certification. Many disinfectants require strong dilutions for critical risk areas like Parvovirus or TB, yet are marketed for use at much weaker dilutions for “broad spectrum activity”, putting both the organisation and patients at risk of cross infection.</p>
<p>TriGene Advance users can rely on one dilution (1:100) for broad spectrum activity (supported by independent testing) in high risk conditions against viruses, mycobacteria, fungi and bacterial organisms and another for economic general purpose disinfection (1:200) in intermediate risk areas.</p>
<h4>Worktops/equipment</h4>

<li>Wash down all surfaces with TriGene Advance at 1:100 and dry with paper towel or allow to dry naturally. Alternatively use TriGene Advance in RTU (ready to use) trigger spray and wipe excess moisture with paper towel and allow to dry.</li>
<li>TriGene Advance wipes can also be used to wipe surfaces.</li>

<p>Device immersion</p>
<ul>
<li>Non-critical devices can be soaked in TriGene Advance if required during a period of high risk in a solution of 1:100 for 20 mins.</li>
<li>Fabrics can be soaked in a solution of TriGene Advance at 1:100 for 10 minute. They can also be washed in an automatic washing machine using 50ml per 4kg load during a normal washing cycle.</li>
</ul>
<p>Floor, walls</p>
<ul>
<li>For general washing of floors and surfaces use TriGene Advance at 1:200. Use with mop and bucket on floors, remove excess moisture and allow to dry.</li>
<li>Wash other surfaces, rince where necessary and remove excess moisture and allow to dry.</li>
</ul>
<p>Fogging and pressure washing</p>
<ul>
<li>Where applicable TriGene Advance can be used in pressure washing machines at a dilution of 1:200, rinsed and allowed to dry.</li>
<li>Where aerial fogging is required, non-fragranced product should be used at a dilution of 1:200. masks should be worn and the area vacated until dry.</li>

<p>Wipes</p>
<ul>
<li>TriGene Advance wipes, impregnated at 1:10 are recommended for disinfection of probes, transducers, incubators and for machines used for x-ray, mammography, radiology, etc.</li>

<li>Avoid eye contact. Wash copiously with water for 10 minutes if in eyes.</li>
